Travel Grants – Iceland Music Export Fund
ICELAND MUSIC EXPORT FUND IS TRANSITIONING TO THE NEW MUSIC FUND.
The New Music Fund takes over the role of the Export Fund to provide travel and marketing grants for music export projects.
The application deadline will be announced in April. It is no longer possible to apply for grants from this website. New Iceland Music website is on the way.
Travel grants – monthly
The Iceland Music Export Fund provides travel grants on a monthly basis. They are provided to support Icelandic artists and professionals who are building an international career.
Travel grants are:
– 75 thousand ISK per person to travel within Europe
– 100 thousand ISK. per person to travel outside Europe
Grants are not granted retroactively. Applications must be received BEFORE the 1st of each month.
New Music Fund will be announced in April 2024. Until then, the Travel Grants will operate as is. It means you can submit an application for a Travel Grant in 2024 BEFORE January 1, February 1, March 1, and April 1. See more about the new music fund here >>

The criteria the board looks at is the following: :
Is the project export ready?
The importance of the concert / event for the export of the music.
Indicate if it’s a showcase festival
Number of concerts per tour
For composers, is this a premiere of an original composition?
The attached budget sheet clearly demonstrates a need for funds .
Please note that the Export Fund has an automatic application system, so applications received late will be considered in next month's allocation. All applications will be answered on the email provided here from the Iceland Music Export Grant email address utflutningssjodur@icelandmusic.is, and grants are deposited into the account listed.
