IN ENGLISH: ÚTÓN introduces 'Bransaveislu', first week of November

Iceland Music, with support from Business Iceland, proudly presents Bransaveisla (“Industry Celebration”), a program for the first week in November with an event series that has been worked on with partners STEF, Reykjavík Music City, INNI Music, Iceland Academy of the Arts, SÍK, Icelandic Film Center and RIFF – Reykjavik International Film Festival.

Over the years, ÚTÓN has worked closely with Airwaves Pro, the conference part of the Iceland Airwaves showcase festival. One of our biggest responsibilities is to invite outstanding professionals to Iceland to connect with our industry here. It is both to invite them to experience live Icelandic music at home, but also to pass their vast knowledge on to not just the artists themselves but the industry as well. Many of the professionals we had already started talking to about visiting Iceland in November wanted to keep their plans even after Airwaves got postponed. Since our goal is always to create export opportunities for our artists we decided to make it work and put together this event series.

Following the stratospheric success of Icelandic film composers in recent years, our focus will be on film music and the professions involved in connecting these related sectors, most notably the Music Supervisor and Publishing with an all-day symposium on 2. November. Further, we get to know the process for the series 'KATLA' which was produced entirely in Iceland where we get to meet Högni Einarsson the composer, and Sigurjón Kjartansson the co-creator of the show. You can attend in person, but there will also be a live broadcast from there in collaboration with NOMEX.

We’re also proud to be able to offer masterclasses in management and music supervision by no other than Thomas Golubic and Jeremy Lacelles, and a roundtable discussion on international music law with prestigious international lawyers who are coming here and work with some of the best talent in the world including Hozier, Kobalt, Universal Music Group, Roger Waters, the estates of Amy Winehouse og George Michael, Coldplay, Florence and the Machine and many more.
