Bransaveisla: Tengslamyndunafundir með fagaðilum í tónlist

 
 
 

ÚTÓN, STEF, Tónlistarborgin Reykjavík og Íslandsstofa eru að bjóða til landsins fríðum flokki fagaðila til að taka þátt í ráðstefnu Iceland Airwaves. Af því tilefni viljum bjóða íslenska tónlistarsamfélaginu tækifæri til að tengjast þessum aðilum bæði til að styrkja tengslin út á við, en líka til að fá endurgjöf á sín verkefni og jafnvel skapa ný tækifæri. 

Haldnir verða tengslamyndunarfundir á KEX þann 2. nóvember frá 14-16 þar sem hægt er að sækja um 15 mínútur í ‘speed-dating’ fund, þar sem hægt er að koma á tengslum. Við hvetjum umsækjendur til að nýta þennan stutta tíma vel til að tengjast og koma sínum verkefnum skýrt frá sér. Í þetta sinni er fjölbreyttur hópur fagaðila sem hægt er að hitta, en það er úr öllum hornum tónlistarbransans: útgefendur, umboðsmenn, bókarar og fjölmiðlafólk frá Bretlandi, Bandaríkjunum, Þýskalandi, Nýja Sjálandi og Íslandi.

Brian Lowit

Dischord Records / Lovitt Records

Brian Lowit is the Label Manager of Dischord Records and the Owner of Lovitt Records both, of which are located in the Washington, DC area.

At Dischord Records, he handles overseeing all the day to day operations of the label as the label manager and does the same for Lovitt Records. Dischord Records has been one of the most influential independent record labels since its inception in 1980. Dischord has released records from some of the most influential bands of the past few decades including Minor Threat and Fugazi.

Brian is a member of the The Recording Academy, a trustee at Guilford College and a board member of the Icelandic Assocation of Washington D.C.

Nina Radojewski is the Professional Development Lead at AIM, the Association of Independent Music, the organisation exclusively representing the UK’s independent music sector, which makes up around a quarter of the recorded music market.

Nina leads on all aspects of career development, education, and training within AIM’s membership.

Nina is also the Chair of UK Music’s Education and Skills Committee and is a key part in developing a new apprenticeship standard for labels and publi hers as well as showing new professional talent routes into the music industry via the Music Academic Partnership Programme.

After working as a music editor, Inga Magnes Weishappel turned to music supervision where she oversees all music related aspects of film, television and other existing or emerging visual media platforms as required.

Ariane Mohr is part of the booking team of Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg.

During her studies of Cultural Studies and Popular Music Studies, she started to channel her creative energy into the organisation of music events and was part of the non-profit, student-run lunatic Festival. In 2018 she began working for Reeperbahn Festival where she, along with her colleagues, curates the music programme of one of the biggest club festivals in Europe.

Michael Hollett

NXNE Festival

Michael Hollett is the founder of the North by Northeast (NXNE) Music festival in Toronto and also the founder of NEXT Magazine, a national, Canadian print and online magazine of music, arts and fun available in Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary.

He also co-founded Toronto's NOW Magazine, which was once one of the leading alternative newsweeklies in North America. He sold it in 2016.

Nick Knowles had his first professional experience in and around music working across world-renowned magazine titles which included Q (r.i.p.), MOJO, Kerrang! and Mixmag.

As manager Nick helps steer the ship for the multi-award nominated, multi-disciplinary chamber-doom icon sóley as well Sony-signed pianist and composer Eydís Evensen, the latter with whom he's worked with since her very first show (at Iceland Airwaves in 2018) and subsequent career launch in 2021. Paul Brannigan

A music writer since 1993, formerly Editor of Kerrang! and Planet Rock magazine (RIP), Paul Brannigan is a Contributing Editor to Louder. Having previously written books on Lemmy, Dave Grohl (the Sunday Times best-seller This Is A Call) and Metallica (Birth School Metallica Death, co-authored with Ian Winwood), his Eddie Van Halen biography (Eruption in the UK, Unchained in the US) emerged in 2021.

He has written for Rolling Stone, Mojo and Q, hung out with Fugazi at Dischord House, flown on Ozzy Osbourne's private jet, played Angus Young's Gibson SG, and interviewed everyone from Aerosmith and Beastie Boys to Young Gods and ZZ Top. Brannigan lives in North London and supports The Arsenal.
